He proposed in Dumont. We went exploring the trails on ATVs and came across this beautiful place in a canyon with a small river flowing through. We never take pictures together, so it surprised me when he stopped and said he wanted to get a picture together in this beautiful area.We were with my dad and brother (who were in on his plan) and they captured the whole thing on camera. I was so shocked! I love being out doors and exploring and the area was beautiful. I knew he had been looking around for rings (he didn’t know I knew that) but I never expected the proposal, and it was perfect!
I really didn’t have a set vision. I have this problem where I love all sorts of different themes and I somehow want to incorporate them to look good together and that doesn’t always work out. But I loved the boho vibes with dark earthy tones. When ELV posted they had disco balls I knew I wanted those too! I also knew I wanted to get married outdoors, somewhere with a breathtaking view!
Easiest thing ever! I feel like I did nothing. Thanks to the best wedding planners, all I had to do was send a few inspiration pictures. The ELV team took the stress out of everything! I also have a great family who helped plan the trip to Vegas and handled transportation and dinner reservations. So between the planners and my family I did almost nothing!
My dress was from All Who Wander. I came across their dresses on Instagram years ago, and new I had to have one. When I found out they were having a trunk show two hours from my hometown I knew I had to go. I went online, picked out the ones I wanted to try on. And even a few from a couple other brands. Nothing felt right, not even the ones I LOVED online. The girl who helped me at the bridal salon said she had something in mind that was very similar to what I had picked out, but also a little different from what I had been trying. I never thought I would cry when I found my dress, but the second I looked at myself in it I knew it was the one.
Between buying it and the wedding I lost almost 30 pounds. Thanks to Sew Elegant alterations, she pretty much disassembled the dress and put it back together, took it down like 3-4 sizes and it fit even better than when I tried it on in the show room. I’m not sure who the sleeves were made by or the veil and I borrowed shoes from my sister!
Everything! I want to relive it everyday! My daughter was my flower girl and seeing her all dressed up with her flowers will always be a core memory for me. Seeing the flowers and the set up and just how beautiful the ELV team made everything. But my most memorable from the day was exchanging our personal vows, and our first dance, and when my daughter let out a loud, long fart in the middle of the ceremony (had everyone in fits of laughter). The whole day was just amazing, everything I could’ve dreamed of and more!
Hire ELV. Let them handle everything for you so you don’t have to stress. Your wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life, you don’t need mountains of stress leading up to it. They won’t let anything go wrong, but if it does embrace it and roll with it. Don’t forget to breathe and take a look around and soak it all in, embrace the moment!
