When it comes to epic elopements, Justine and Sean’s has to be near the top of our list.  From their vintage inspired furniture pieces to the delicious desserts and specialty cocktails, they left no details behind.

WHAT WORDS WOULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?

Intimate. Vintage. Fun. 

THE PROPOSAL:

Justine: Sean and I were already planning on getting married without a “formal proposal.” We just wanted to be married – so I’d kind of let that dream go. He ended up surprising me just before our anniversary and proposed in the same spot where we met 5 years ago! 

THE VISION:

We both wanted to get married in a quiet, serene space that was isolated from the noise of the modern world and create a venue that felt like we were in our own little world. We wanted a small, intimate wedding with just our immediate family so there was a relaxed and casual atmosphere. The desert was perfect for that and of course it provides beautiful surroundings!

THE PLANNING PROCESS:

The main issue we had with the planning process was finding the right space to meet our vision. Once we decided on the Valley of Fire the planning process wasn’t too complicated. We then knew what we wanted and Emily provided us with a list of vendors to make that happen. There were obviously difficulties involved with organizing a wedding and being in a long distance relationship but other than that it was a fun process to research the different options available and select the ones we loved most.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS:

Justine: My most memorable moment was when my daughter ran up to us after Sean and I said “I do” and kissed. Was such a wonderful moment. 

Sean: When I got to stand for a minute just before the ceremony begin and see both our families smiling and happy and look down at Justine about to walk up to me. Was a surreal moment and everything we had been planning for the day and the rest of our lives was about to become a reality

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES:

Justine:

Hire. A. Wedding. Planner. 

No matter how big or how small you want your special day to be. It takes away sooooo much of the stress! They have the best advice & they make the day go so smooth — this is great especially for indecisive brides like myself! 

Sean:

Create the wedding that you and your partner want. Don’t try to cater to what you think your guests want because that just brings stress and will end up changing how you want your wedding to be.
