The backdrop of Red Rock Canyon can be described as a breathtaking scenery full of the most beautiful views of nature. With its layers of rich, dazzling colors and incredible sunsets, it is the perfect frame for an intimate elopement. An intimate elopement were two feel isolated and where two can feel their love the most. Alyssa and Josh wanted nothing more than to focus on their love in the middle of the unique Red Rock formations.
WHAT WORDS WOULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?
Our wedding was intimate and raw. From the second we connected our eyes walking down the aisle to the first kiss, the rest of the world faded away, and we were all that existed and mattered.
THE PROPOSAL:
Josh surprised me by proposing to me in the middle of a sunflower field. In my favorite TV show, Gilmore Girls– Lorelai gets proposed to with a thousand yellow daisies– Josh proposed by saying “I know it’s not a thousand yellow daisies, but I love you a million sun flowers”.
THE VISION:
Our vision for our wedding was to be surrounded by nature’s beauty, have a beautiful backdrop, and to keep the focus on our love. Our small guest list allowed us to focus on each other and to not have to worry about pleasing anyone but ourselves.
THE PLANNING PROCESS:
When we decided to elope, we decided that we wanted to be somewhere outside with a beautiful backdrop. I searched and scoured for different places to elope, and that is when I stumbled across Elopement Las Vegas. We reached out to Elopement Las Vegas, and they sent us over their packages. We chose a package and sent over our payment. After–we received a questionnaire to tell Elopement Las Vegas what kind of cake, flowers, and music we would like or our ceremony. They made it really easy for us to customise our day, all we had to do was just show up.
YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES
I wanted something a little risque for our wedding since we were going to Las Vegas. I had been to bridal shop after bridal shop and I was not finding anything that suited me. After trying on hundreds of dresses– I ordered my dress from David’s Bridal without ever even trying it on because they didn’t offer it in stores. It was the perfect dress with Berta vibes at a more affordable price. It ended up fitting perfectly and I love the way it looked in all of our photos. I fell in love with a little shop from Etsy called Dareth Colburn Designs, that is where I got my hair piece and my earrings. For my shoes– I went with Sam Endlemans Yaro Sandals because they have a thick heel, because I knew I needed to be comfortable and able to walk through the desert.
For Josh’s suit, we went to Bonobos to get him fitted. We decided to stick with navy blue to keep it neutral. He added a navy blue bow tie and suspenders to add a little character. His shoes were from Johnston and Murphy.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS
My favorite moment from our day was our ceremony. When Josh finally got to turn around as I was making my way down the aisle and saw me for the first time, it was everything that I ever wanted. Although we were both crying and emotional, I loved reading our own vows to each other. We shared such sweet words, looks, and promises– I will remember these moments forever.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES
If you are thinking about eloping, DO IT! Our day was small, intimate, raw, and perfect. I highly recommend writing your own vows for the ceremony. It allows you to personalize your day and make it even more special.
