They were married with the sun shining on them, hands clasped together, over the still sounds of the Las Vegas desert, with vivid colored rocks in the distance as far as the eye could see.

Being frequent hikers of the area, Red Rock Canyon is very known place to this couple, with it now being a special place in their relationship. Kayla and Nina wanted nothing more than to share their love of nature with their closet friends and family in an elopement-style setting.

WHAT WORDS WOULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?

If we could use a couple of words to describe our wedding it would be stunning, memorable, and most importantly fun and easy-going. 

THE PROPOSAL

Nina and I had actually known of each other for a couple of years and were surprisingly set-up by my twin sister. Nina showed up to my work one day and brought me some coffee, and as soon as I saw her, I knew I wanted to marry her. Nina has always had a charming personality and is absolutely hilarious, but she’s also sweet and extremely thoughtful. I knew I had fallen in love when I found out she drank whiskey neat, smoked cigars, and loved dogs. I had bought Nina’s engagement ring a month before Christmas and had always thought about how to propose. I ultimately decided that our most cherished moments happened when her and I were together, with just us. I proposed on Christmas Day and I’ll never forget that Nina’s loving words were, “are you joking my ass?!” right before she said yes. 

THE VISION

Nina and I had discussed how important it was for our marriage to be simple for us and something that could be cherished for our entire family. We scoured through the Internet and eventually fell upon Elopement Las Vegas, which took our breath away. Nina and I have always been avid hikers in Red Rock and we were absolutely thrilled when we found out that our elopement could take place at the Red Rock Boardwalk. 

THE PLANNING PROCESS

Nina and I both have very busy schedules and Elopement Las Vegas turned out to be the perfect balance of allowing us to be in control of what happened on our wedding day and taking care of us throughout the process. Elopement Las Vegas ensured that every single detail of our wedding was taken care of through e-mail correspondence, which made the planning process effortless. We enjoyed every step of our journey and were absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out. We knew that we wanted our ceremony and photos to be a reminder of the fact that we are both born and raised in Las Vegas and a ceremony at Red Rock perfectly tied in all of our wishes. 

YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES

We both discussed what we would wear on our wedding day and tried numerous outfits. Nina ended up finding the perfect dress at David’s Bridal and I found the perfect outfit from Little Black Tux. We included a couple of significant accessories on our wedding day, which included a blue traditional Laotian sash, a sentimental hanker-chief provided by my parents that was originally made from a baby bonnet when I was born, and with the help of our family we were able to include the traditional “something old, new, borrowed, and blue.” We also decided that our outfits would not be complete without some Tory Burch blue suede shoes. 

MEMORABLE MOMENTS

Nina and I will cherish every moment of our wedding day, to include the nervousness I felt before our wedding, and the pure joy of seeing her walk down the aisle. We’ll also cherish the silly moments, to include Nina’s sporadic moments of asking someone to blow into her eyes to prevent her from crying and asking me an UNO card game question before saying “I do”, or the fact that I had trouble opening the champagne bottle when it really mattered. Our most memorable part of this journey will always be having our family and friends there to cherish our silly moments with us. 

 ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES 

Our advice for other couples would be to take the time to enjoy the presence of each person on your wedding day, to soak in every moment, to not stress about the little things, and let them happen naturally.
