Blush will forever be in! Our couple Zindzi and Denny wanted something simple, yet charming and romantic. With gorgeous greenery and blushing details, the couple had the elopement of their dreams at Red Springs Boardwalk.
Between the laughs, the dancing, the cake cutting and most importantly the vows they made, their big day was one they will never forget.
WHAT WORDS WOULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?
Gorgeous, Romantic, Memorable and Breathtaking.
THE PROPOSAL:
So we got engaged on December 24th 2019 in Toronto at a Christmas Light Festival in Toronto. Zindzi’s family was in town for the holidays and they joined us at the Festival so Denny figured it would be the best place and time. He planned the entire surprise with the help of festival organizers and Zindzi’s sister, and the rest was blissful history!
THE VISION:
Like so many couples, we were initially planning for a larger wedding in the Caribbean where the vast majority of our family and friends are. But then COVID happened and we knew we had to stick a pin in those plans and be more practical with our vision. So when we ultimately decided to elope we knew we didn’t want the traditional chapel or beach elopement. After many nights searching on Pinterest, Youtube and Instagram, we fell in love with the photos and videos of destination elopements – especially the mountain and desert elopements.
THE PLANNING PROCESS:
After we decided that Las Vegas was going to be the place and Elopement Las Vegas was going to be our planners, the planning process was very seamless. The ELV team provided clear and timely guidance and planning throughout the entire process. They were available for our calls and responded to the many questions we asked via email. For services outside of the ones our wedding package included, we found the vendor recommendations provided by ELV helpful and we also used Instagram to find a few other options as well. Since we were travelling from out of town, the most difficult part of the entire planning process was planning our flights (because they kept getting moved or cancelled), arranging a large enough (and affordable) suite for our 6 person group, and the many COVID tests we had to book and endure.
YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES
Groom: I purchased my 3-piece navy suit from Amazon (vendor: My’s Men). I loved the way my tux looked on me in the photos and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable but well tailored suit for their big day or any special occasion. My brown lace up dress shoes were by the Vostey brand, yet another Amazon purchase that I would highly recommend for the couple on a budget and not looking to compromise on style.
Bride: My wedding dress was the “Kennedy” gown by Sottero & Midgley, purchased from Avenue 22 in Toronto with alterations by Couture Bridal Alterations. My shoes were from Le Chateau, and my veil was a one-tier lace tulle cathedral veil with appliques and beading purchased from Cocomelody (style no. CV0183). I loved the silhouette of my dress very much. I think it complimented my curves really well and it fit me like a glove. My husband couldn’t stop talking about my dress and veil. Honestly, they were a perfect pair.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS
Denny: The last hour or two before heading to the venue – I couldn’t stop thinking of the many enjoyable memories that Zindzi and I shared. Staring out at the amazing Vegas view, from my hotel window everything just felt so calm and blissful, I guess it was the final hour jitters leading up to our ceremony that sent my happy hormones bubbling to the surface. I had not seen my wife-to-be all day and all I could think of was holding and kissing her. The anticipation and excitement of seeing her for the first time at the altar of our wedding ceremony was especially remarkable.
Zindzi: The moment my veil flew off – I’m a stickler for the details and the optics that go into the execution of elegant occasions, so when my veil flew off because of an unexpected gust of wind, I was sure to burst into tears. Surprisingly though, I was so overcome with excitement seeing my handsome fiancĂ© and seeing look of delight on his face that my rogue veil did not phase me in the slightest. Needless to say the ELV team did their best to put my veil back on and they successfully anchored it down.
