Nelson’s Ghost Town in Eldorado Canyon is a popular wedding destination for couples looking for a unique and rustic setting. Nelson’s Ghost Town is an abandoned mining town that has been preserved as a tourist attraction. Its historic buildings, vintage vehicles, and artifacts create a charming and rustic atmosphere that adds character to your wedding. The desert landscape surrounding Nelson’s Ghost Town provides a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding photos. The combination of rugged terrain, old buildings, and desert flora makes Nelson’s Ghost town the perfect place to elope in Las Vegas. Hear why eloping was an easy decision for our couple Jacob and Allison below.
THE PROPOSAL:
Unexpected and unplanned! The perfect timing for us. We had just moved to a new state together and started new jobs. We both had an emotional evening just feeling blessed and thankful for all that God had done in our lives together, so Jacob decided to propose to me in our kitchen! It was a very sweet moment, and we will never forget it!
THE VISION:
We wanted a destination wedding, but we wanted to be able to invite all of our closest family and friends. We did not want to spend a fortune and go into a crazy amount of debt for our wedding, so when we found Elopement Las Vegas it was the perfect match for us! I wanted something very simple with minimal planning from my end. I did not want to be stressed out trying to figure everything out on our own, and I wanted to get married in the mountains. Ghost Town was the perfect location for us because we love the desert and mountains, and we loved the rustic/eclectic look that Ghost Town offered.
THE PLANNING PROCESS:
So effortless and super easy! Just a few, quick emails and texts, and maybe a couple of phone calls. At first, I was a little skeptical with how easy the planning process was, but it turned out so perfect!
YOUR OUTFITS AND ACCESSORIES:
My wedding dress was the second dress I had ever tried on. I fell in love with it because it was the perfect shade of Ivory/Off white and it fit me like a glove! Jacob’s suit was purchased at Kohl’s. The set is not a matching set, but the pants are a sport/stretchy material and the suit jacket is more of a sport coat fit which is what he wanted as well! He wore Space Jam Jordan’s and we both had matching MeUndies on The groomsmen wore Nike’s or Jordan’s and black suits, and my bridesmaids had a color scheme to choose their dresses from as well! I had each girl wear a different shade of pink/rose, and everyone had a different texture/material on. Everyone looked absolutely perfect! We definitely realized that you don’t have to spend a fortune in order to look good and feel good and have the perfect wedding!
MEMORABLE MOMENTS:
My grandpa passed away in February 2021. It was very unexpected and hard on our family. My mom was able to tie his wedding ring around my bouquet. It was very memorable because I can carry the values and love that he had in his marriage into my marriage with Jacob. I was very appreciative that we were able to do that. Another memorable moment was taking communion for the first time together. I was thankful that our minister was able to make time for that! The photos were a great memory as well! Pablo and his assistant were so helpful with posing us and telling us when to smile and when to kiss each other. It honestly still feels like a dream that we were married in Ghost Town, NV. It was just simply the very best day of our lives!
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES:
I think the best advice we could give to other couples is that you definitely don’t have to spend a ton of money to have a great wedding! The packages that Elopement Las Vegas offers are pretty customizable and all of the staff that I spoke with were super helpful and so kind to me. Don’t be afraid to ask the questions you want to ask! I asked a lot of questions and sometimes I felt like I was super annoying, but they all know that they’re planning for the most important day of your life so they were very prepared to answer any questions I had. Also, before you walk down the aisle just stop to take a second and look around at your surroundings and soak it ALL in! The ceremony goes by SO FAST and the day will be over in what feels like the blink of an eye, so just take your time and be very present in the moment.
