You got engaged. You looked at each other and said, “What if we just… went to Las Vegas?” And honestly? That might be the most brilliant wedding decision you ever make.
Las Vegas elopements have evolved far beyond the midnight chapel clichés. Today, couples are exchanging vows in dramatic desert canyons, on glittering rooftops, and in lush private gardens, with florals, fine art photography, champagne toasts, and every last detail taken care of. All of it, without the 18-month planning spiral.
I’m Emily, founder of Elopement Las Vegas, and I’ve been planning intimate weddings in this city for over a decade. This guide covers everything you actually need to know to plan a beautiful, legal, stress-free Las Vegas elopement in 2026, from picking your location and navigating your marriage license to understanding what a real all-inclusive elopement package looks like.
Here’s what most people don’t realize: Las Vegas is one of the most logistically seamless places in the world to get married. The Clark County Marriage License Bureau is open 8am to midnight, seven days a week. There’s no waiting period. No blood test. You can arrive on a Tuesday, get your license the same day, and be married by sunset with a stunning gallery of photos to prove it.
Beyond the logistics, Las Vegas offers an unmatched variety of backdrops, from the iconic Strip to ancient red rock formations that look like another planet. Whether your dream is a desert elopement with golden hour light spilling over canyon walls, or an elevated rooftop ceremony with the skyline behind you, Las Vegas delivers.
And if you’ve been thinking “we want something meaningful but we don’t want to plan a massive event” a Las Vegas micro wedding is exactly what you’re looking for.

Before anything else, you need a Nevada marriage license, and this is entirely your responsibility to obtain. Here’s the good news: it’s genuinely simple. Here’s how the process works:
• Start by pre-applying online you can complete the application here before you ever set foot in Las Vegas. This saves significant time when you arrive to the Marriage Bureau and I strongly recommend doing it.
• Both partners then visit the Clark County Marriage License Bureau together in person. The Bureau is open 8am to midnight, 7 days a week, including holidays.
• You will pay $102 at the Bureau to purchase your license.
• Bring the full license packet with you on the day of your ceremony. The officiant ELV provides will handle filing your marriage license after the ceremony. If you need your certificate processed on an expedited basis, that option is available for an additional fee and can be processed on weekdays.
Want someone close to you to perform your ceremony and legally marry you? A family member or friend can get ordained to officiate one ceremony. This is such a fun option if you’re looking for a more personal ceremony.
International couples: not everyone will need additional paperwork once they return home, so we recommend checking with your local government to find out whether an Apostille or any other documentation will be required for your marriage to be recognized in your country.

This is where most couples start — and where most couples get the most excited. Las Vegas elopement locations are genuinely spectacular, and each one creates a completely different feel for your wedding day.
Red Rock Canyon
Red Rock Canyon is our most popular location, and it’s easy to understand why. The towering sandstone formations, layered in rust, gold, and cream, create an otherworldly backdrop that photographs like nothing else. It’s about 35 minutes from the Strip and feels a million miles away from it.

Because Red Rock is a federally managed conservation area, ceremonies require a BLM permit. ELV is an annual permit holder, which means we handle securing your permit as part of your package. A couple of important things to know about Red Rock, per park policies: there is a maximum of 50 guests (35 at Red Springs Boardwalk), and a limit of 10 chairs reserved for elderly guests. The park also prohibits confetti, flower petals, glass bottles, champagne spraying, and real pampas grass. Faux pampas grass is totally fine, and looks gorgeous in photos.
One thing I want to be upfront about: we apply for the permit time that you prefer most, but the BLM makes the final call on what time is approved, and no company can guarantee you a specific slot. Anyone who tells you otherwise is not being honest with you. We can submit your permit application up to 6 months in advance, and the BLM typically takes a few weeks to get back to us with the approved time.
Valley of Fire

If Red Rock Canyon is dramatic, Valley of Fire is otherworldly. Ancient red sandstone formations, sweeping open vistas, and a color palette that ignites at golden hour, it’s a dream location for couples who want desert elopement photography that truly stops people in their tracks. Valley of Fire is about an hour from Las Vegas, and it’s worth every minute of the drive.
Keep in mind: Valley of Fire is a state park, and there is a $10/vehicle or $2/person park entry fee (whichever is greater) paid at the gate. Couples are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the park. Because cell signal is poor and remote access is challenging, we strongly recommend renting a car or booking a transportation company rather than relying on rideshares for this location.
Nelson Ghost Town
Nelson Ghost Town is an absolute gem that not enough couples know about. It has a rugged, vintage Western atmosphere, crumbling structures, vintage vehicles, and an untamed desert landscape that creates editorial-quality photos. Couples who want something a little more unexpected absolutely love this location.

Springs Preserve

For couples who want lush, garden-style beauty without leaving the city, Springs Preserve is a stunning option. The Garden Arbor setting offers gorgeous greenery and botanical surroundings that feel worlds away from the desert just outside, and the variety of beautiful areas throughout the property gives your photographer so much to work with. It accommodates up to 50 guests, making it a wonderful choice for micro weddings that want something verdant, elegant, and a little unexpected for Las Vegas.
Not every couple wants the desert, and that’s completely valid. Las Vegas has some genuinely stunning indoor and Strip-adjacent ceremony locations that deliver their own kind of magic. Here are a few of our favorites.
The Bellagio Terrace

For couples who want that quintessential Las Vegas backdrop, it doesn’t get more iconic than the Bellagio Terrace. Overlooking the famous fountains with the Strip stretching out behind you, this location is pure Las Vegas glamour. You’ll be allowed to bring 15 of your closest family and friends. And with the afternoon times you’ll be able to pick your very own fountain show song.
Downtown Las Vegas

Downtown Las Vegas has a creative, eclectic energy that’s completely different from the Strip. With neon signs, artistic murals, and a gritty-meets-cool urban atmosphere, it’s a great fit for couples who want something with personality and edge. The visual variety downtown also gives your photographer a lot to work with.
The Stirling Club

If an intimate indoor ceremony is what you’re after, the Stirling Club is an elegant, upscale option. Located inside a beautifully appointed private club, it offers a refined, chandelier-lit setting that feels formal and elevated without the chaos of a public venue. It’s a wonderful choice for couples who want that polished, indoor wedding aesthetic.
This is the question I get most often, and it’s a good one, because “all-inclusive” means very different things depending on who you’re talking to.
At Elopement Las Vegas, our Las Vegas elopement packages are designed to cover everything that makes a wedding feel like a wedding, not just the bare minimum to get you legally married. Here’s what you can expect from our core packages:
Photography & Florals
Your Ceremony
Celebration
Logistics
We also offer meaningful add-ons, including getting-ready photography, videography, and additional coordination services, so your package can be customized to fit exactly what your day needs.
For most couples, our Basic and Deluxe packages offer the best combination of value and experience. If you’re not sure which is right for you, just reach out and we’ll walk you through it.

Photography is, for most couples, the most important element of their elopement day, and rightfully so. These images are what you’ll have forever. Here’s how ELV handles it.

Professional wedding photography is included in every package. The Basic package includes 60 minutes of fine art wedding photography, and you can add an additional 30 minutes if you want more time to explore the location. Your photographer is assigned based on availability at the time your permit is issued, we don’t guarantee a specific photographer, but every photographer on our team is experienced in the specific challenges and magic of desert and urban Las Vegas wedding photography.
After your wedding, you’ll receive 2–5 sneak peek images within one week — because waiting is hard and we get that. Your full gallery arrives via digital download within 4–6 weeks of your wedding date. Galleries are available for 90 days, so download promptly and back your images up to an external drive.
One tip: bring a shot list if you want specific group or family portraits captured. Your coordinator will help wrangle everyone, but having a clear list makes the process faster and ensures no important photos get missed.

Absolutely! And many couples do. The word “elopement” doesn’t have to mean disappearing alone. It just means intimate.
Guest pricing varies depending on your package and location, some packages and venue site fees include guests, while others are priced differently. Children over age 2 count as guests for permit purposes. Your final guest count needs to be confirmed at least 30 days before your event date. When you inquire, we’ll walk you through exactly what’s included for guests based on the package and location you choose.
If you’re planning to have a bridal party with more than 2 members per side, an additional coordinator fee applies to ensure the ceremony flows smoothly and photography runs on time. It’s a worthwhile addition when there are more moving pieces on the day.
Location matters for guest count too. Red Rock Canyon has a hard cap of 50 guests per park policy (35 at Red Springs Boardwalk). Other locations have their own limits, which we’ll walk you through when you inquire.
Las Vegas gets a bad reputation for heat, and yes, July in the desert is genuinely hot. But the shoulder seasons are absolutely stunning, and even summer has its magic if you know how to work with it.
Fall (October–November) and spring (March–April) are the sweet spots, mild temperatures, gorgeous light, and lush desert color. Winter elopements, especially at Red Rock Canyon, are dramatic and moody in the best possible way. Snow on the canyon walls is a rare but breathtaking possibility.
For summer weddings, we schedule ceremonies earlier in the morning or in the evening to avoid peak heat. Many couples are surprised by how beautiful and manageable a summer elopement can be with the right planning.

Pro tip: booking a weekday date (Monday through Thursday) not only gives you a quieter, more peaceful experience at most outdoor locations, it also comes with a discount. It’s one of the easiest ways to get more value from your elopement package.
Las Vegas Elopement Planning Timeline: How Far Out Do You Need to Book?
One of the most common questions I get: “How much lead time do we actually need?” The honest answer: it depends on your location. Certain popular venues put their own parameters on elopement bookings, most commonly restricting weekend dates and only opening their availability a set number of months in advance. This is exactly why weekday dates tend to offer a lot more flexibility when it comes to venue selection. Want a specific venue? Book Monday through Thursday and you dramatically open up your options.
For Red Rock Canyon, the BLM opens permit applications 6 months out, and we submit yours the moment that window opens. If your wedding date is a weekend in a peak season (spring or fall), booking as early as possible gives you the best options. For more flexible timelines or weekday dates, less lead time can work well.
The sooner you reach out, the more flexibility you have. That said, we’ve planned beautiful elopements on shorter notice when the logistics align, so don’t count yourself out just because your timeline feels tight.
Why Elopement Las Vegas? What Makes Us Different:
I started Elopement Las Vegas because I planned my own large-scale wedding and experienced the overwhelm firsthand. I know exactly what it feels like to lose yourself in logistics when what you actually want is to be present on your wedding day.

ELV is not a chapel. We are not a drive-through. We are a full-service, premium elopement planning company, and every package we offer is thoughtfully curated to feel like a real, beautifully designed wedding, just without the unnecessary complexity.
We’ve been planning Las Vegas intimate weddings for over 10 years. We know these locations, we know these permits, and we know how to make sure your day runs exactly as it should, so that all you have to do is show up, get married and enjoy your day.
We’re also honest with you. We’ll tell you what to watch out for (like vendors who falsely promise specific permit times, we see this a lot and it leads to disappointment). We believe you deserve accurate information so you can make the right decision for your wedding day.
