There is a moment on the drive to Valley of Fire when the rock turns red. The road empties out, and you realize you are somewhere completely different from the Strip. That is where you will say your vows. It is genuinely one of the most stunning backdrops we work with. Once you see it in person, you understand why couples ask for it by name.
Here is what your day out there could actually look like.

The whole trip takes about an hour and fifteen minutes, door to door, and it is an easy one. You will spend roughly forty-five minutes heading north on the 15. Then about thirty minutes on one quiet road carries you straight into the park. There are no turns to second-guess. You just watch the desert change color as you get closer.
Valley of Fire charges an entrance fee, since it is a Nevada state park. It is ten dollars for a vehicle with Nevada plates and fifteen dollars for an out-of-state vehicle. Groups arriving by bus or limo pay two dollars per person instead. Rangers are out here daily making sure everyone follows the rules, so keep that fee handy at the gate.
Valley of Fire has two ceremony sites inside the park, and we work with both depending on permit availability. Each one has its own personality. Both put you right in the middle of some of the most photogenic scenery in the state.

One option sits at what is now called the Old Visitor Center. The park opened a brand new building down the road at the end of 2025. Reaching this ceremony spot takes a short walk up some steps and uneven ground. The payoff is total seclusion. Three benches line each side, seating two to three guests apiece. Your closest guests end up just a few feet away.

The other option is Seven Sisters, a short drive further down the road. This site opens into far more space, with flatter ground underfoot. That makes it easy for guests to move around and mingle before and after your ceremony.
When we apply for your permit, we factor in things like guest mobility and stroller needs. That way, you end up exactly where you belong, without having to sort through the details yourself.
Valley of Fire not quite your speed? Our Red Rock Canyon elopement guide covers that option in just as much detail.
Here is something worth knowing upfront: we hold an annual permit at Valley of Fire. That means the entire application process is ours, not yours. You will never fill out a park form or track down a permit on your own. It comes with every package we offer, permit fee and all.
The park opens its books for the following year in late September or October. That is the earliest anyone, including us, can apply. Getting on our calendar before then gives you the best possible shot at your preferred ceremony time.
If someone promises an exact ceremony time before the park opens applications, take that with a grain of salt. Nobody can promise that, including us. What we can promise is that we will be ready the moment the window opens. We will already have your preferred time picked out.

Every hour out here is beautiful, sunset included, and most couples request it. Sunrise is the quiet secret, though: the light is just as stunning, and the park is nearly empty. If you are traveling in from the East Coast or Europe, your body clock is already on your side. Sunrise here might feel like a totally reasonable hour to you, even if it looks early on paper.
Summer is when timing matters most. Not many couples plan a Valley of Fire elopement during the hottest months. It is genuinely doable, though, if you plan around the heat. Sunrise and sunset both bring the least direct sun, which cuts the temperature considerably. Hydrate well before your ceremony, and skip anything heavy in favor of fabric that breathes.

This is a state park with real, uneven terrain, not a paved courtyard. Arrive in flat sandals for the walk to your ceremony site. Your team will help you change into heels once you get there.
If heels are part of your look, go with a chunkier heel. Stilettos and natural desert ground genuinely do not mix. You want to feel steady, not wobbly, for every step of your ceremony.

Once we secure your permit, here is what we take care of next. Every Valley of Fire package includes the permit cost itself. Our team applies for it and locks in your date and time. Guest counts beyond what your package includes come with a $20 per-guest fee, separate from the permit. You will get a formal day-of timeline, so you always know what is happening next.
A photographer and an officiant come with every package too. Someone from our team also coordinates your ceremony in person. Want a little more? We also offer decor add-ons if you want to dress up your site beyond what the desert gives you.
Honestly, from there, things only get better. It just depends on how much you want to add to your day.
