We love helping our clients find the most amazing, unique places to tie the knot both inside Las Vegas and out. Now, we’d like to share another such place, and we’d like to help you plan out what you’ll need to do for a ceremony there. With that in mind, this is our dry lake bed wedding and elopement guide!
The four closest areas for your dry lake bed wedding or elopement are the El Dorado Dry Lake Bed, Jean Dry Lake Bed, and Roach Dry Lake Bed. The El Dorado Dry Lake Bed is about 30 minutes from Vegas, and the Jean and Roach Dry Lake Beds are about 35 minutes.
These are not the only reasons to consider a dry lake bed wedding or elopement, but they’re the top ones. Take a look!
Your dry lake bed wedding or elopement can be designed just the way you like. With a completely blank canvas like that, you can do whatever you want and design your special day around your ideas and visions.
Whether you’re inviting guests to join you at your dry lake bed wedding or elopement ceremony or not, it’s always nice to have a wedding within close proximity to Las Vegas.
A lot of couples that choose a dry lake bed wedding or elopement head to the strip or to a local restaurant to celebrate the occasion. Plus, after their wedding or elopement is done, Vegas offers a TON of things to do!
Dry lake beds are HUGE! They’re popular spots for weddings and elopements because of that. For example, the El Dorado Dry Lake Bed covers approximately 20 square miles, so there’s plenty of room to tie the knot without having to worry about someone coming in and messing it up!
A dry lake bed wedding or elopement is not restricted to a certain number of guests. However, because of how huge the area is, dry lake bed weddings and elopements are great for those folks looking to have a smaller or more intimate wedding or elopement.
Here at Elopement Las Vegas, we have a capacity of up to 50 guests for a dry lake bed wedding or elopement.
When you choose a dry lake bed wedding or elopement, you won’t have to worry about your wedding date not being available because there’s enough room for everybody. You can choose the best date at the best time of year, and you won’t have to worry about it being booked up.
We always want our clients to feel as prepared and comfortable as possible, no matter where they choose to hold their wedding or elopement. So, here are some things you’ll need to know when planning your wedding or elopement.
Like with any wedding or elopement in the desert, the weather will play its part, so you’ll want to make sure you select the best time of year. We also always recommend being flexible with your date too. You just never know what the weather’s going to do. Lots of couples like working with us for this very reason. We know how to adapt to Nevada weather, and we know how to plan for it.Â
It is important to note that there are no restrooms at the lake bed. So this can be problematic if you are out there for long periods of time or have small children/large groups.Â
The El Dorado Dry Lake Bed is in Boulder City, so there are plenty of great hotels and Airbnbs available nearby. You could also book a great stay in Vegas. Whatever your needs are, make sure you’ve got them taken care of well before arriving and especially after you settle on a date.
You can easily get to your dry lake bed wedding or elopement by car. It’s up to you to choose what kind of car that is though. Maybe you choose something more off-road or something a little more traditional.
It is important to note that some vehicles cannot drive on the lake bed. So, be sure to check with transportation companies in advance. If you book with Elopement Las Vegas, we provide these recommendations for companies after booking.
Whatever you choose, make sure it’s able to get you there and that you’ll have it available on the day.
Before your wedding or elopement, you’ll need to get your marriage license from Clark County. This needs to be sorted at least 60 days before you tie the knot. Then, you can pick up your license from the Las Vegas Marriage License Bureau.
You’ll need an ID showing your birth date and a picture of you. The cost is around $102. However, if you choose to work with us at Elopement Las Vegas, we help you with your marriage license and your permits. If you’re interested, take a look at the all-inclusive packages we offer.
After your dry lake bed wedding or elopement, you have a couple of choices for your reception. You could go all adventurous and spend the night camping in the desert. You could spend your time in Boulder City, enjoying what it has to offer. Or you could do what most people do and find out what Vegas can offer you.
It doesn’t matter what your personality is or what you have envisioned for your wedding celebrations, the Vegas and greater Nevada area has something for everyone.
It doesn’t get any simpler than a dry lake bed wedding or elopement. These unique spots offer the perfect setting for anyone looking for an outside venue and one that’s open to whatever look they’re going for. When you choose a wedding or elopement at a dry lake bed, you’re totally surrounded by nature and away from any distractions. That just leaves the two of you to settle into your love for one another. And to settle into the moments of sharing that love with one another.
This is what we love to help our clients do. To give them opportunities to enjoy their special day with one another. Wherever you plan on holding your wedding, we want to help you do the same. Feel free to contact us at any time, so we can get started planning!
